So where has it all gone wrong?
My view is the summer recruitment. Poor signings by Sullivan, when proper money should have been spent on proper players, not frees and loans. Not signing players in the right positions - too many wingers and relying on Carroll to be fit.

Followed by lack of experience from the manager

You need to get him back on here.

Cracks me up every time I meet Ron as well. He's like this whenever he sees me.

Every game has sold-out, so of course we can fill 57k. What a daft thing to say.

Yeah, hundreds of people dotted around the stadium fail to turn-up but that happens at all stadiums - it's even more noticeable in bigger grounds like the Emirates, Wembley and Old Trafford.

If you think that it's just an issue at our place then you're more than a tad daft.

Agree with that. Said the same to P.

Sullivan and his SON was fucking cringe in the window, the BACCA situation was beyond a joke. Also made himself look a cowboy cunt over Charlie Austin and constantly on talksport or tweeting crossed hammers.

We're as much of a circus as we've ever been at the min, top to bottom and on and off the pitch.

I cannot see a single positive ATM bar we have a genuine world class talent in Payet

The constant going on about '60k' by the other old goat has just shown what there all about. We can't fill it at 57, been so many empty seats already.

Love Palace away, well looking forward to it this year with a later kick off. Last year was a superb day out.

Yeah, I'll be at Palace, Macca son... At least we showed some fight yesterday but I'm really not hopeful of a result there but you never know. We've got to keep the faith.

I'm doing Everton Away as well. Must be bonkers but it's been a while since I've been there so I fancy going there again.

Re: So where has it all gone wrong?
Injuries, bad replacements, bad team selection, defensive/goalkeeper cock ups, players not delivering,

I think it can be turned around. The persistence of playing Zaza and Tore

God I'm missing Valencia

Re: So where has it all gone wrong?
Agree on the Astra "disaster" having a deflating effect but it was the collapse vs Watford which really got to the team I think. I still think we underestimated both Astra & the likes of Watford thinking that we had got to the Olympic Stadium and now it was all easy peasy.

For me management was a part of this not just the players that switched off. Bilic didn't play his best 11 vs Astra thinking that playing the kids was enough & resting the senior players for the supposedly more important league game away to Citeh. I'd have much preferred to play the big names vs Astra & make sure of the Europa League which was a priority for the club! That's how I see it.
Instead he threw in the kids & fumbled the chance.

Pre-season was also suspect. I saw us up at Seattle and we were truly dreadful vs them and didn't really improve. The games vs Chelsea & Citeh was proof that we were miles behind other teams as we looked slow, unfit & generally still "on holiday"...

All a bit amateurish and I'm really surprised Bilic allowed this to happen.

I'll be brave enough. I think Antonio is fucking shit and I would like him removed from the starting 11.

Re: So where has it all gone wrong?
I don't recall Pardew having many excuses/reasons.
Bilic may feel he should be judged with Carroll/Sahko/Ayew and Cresswell on the pitch.
Unless he is going to be held accountable for Tore and Zaza being diabolical.
I feel sorry for him if he is going to Palace hoping that some of his players are going to save him.
I like him and hope (and think) he can turn it round but I do find myself doubting at least 3 or 4 of his selections each game.
It was just a disagreement over the use of Antonio last season.

Re: So where has it all gone wrong?
Hopefully if we do beat Palace, that one win is enough to get back the mojo the club had last season.

I think the disappointment of bombing out of the Europa has had a knock on effect, I know I lost a lot of faith in Bilic due to that. I'd even excuse him the PL results had we won a couple of group stage games.

Whatever the problem behind the scenes, they have two weeks to get their shit together. Maybe being away, and an evening game might see us rise to the occassion.

Re: So where has it all gone wrong?
It does seem to have that Pardew season feel about it.

His last game was a 5.30 embarrassment away from home wasn't it? Let's hope we can somehow sort this out and get a much needed win against Palace.

Coming through bad times is one thing - learning from mistakes and ensuring they don't occur time after time is what has been lacking at our club.

Re: So where has it all gone wrong?
Indeed, OM and circumstances give context to the situation, but as I said, I can't find excuses for Bilic. It's all going horribly wrong and I don't see how he will turn it around.

I've just lost faith in him. I think I felt the same around a similar time under Pardew when he fucked it all up.

"Sometimes you have to come through some tough times."

I don't disagree with that, but it just seems that we've had our fair share of tough times over the years and it would be nice to maintain some good consisting performances over a few seasons for a change.

Re: So where has it all gone wrong?
I called for Roeder's (ugly) head 15 games into 02/03, as I knew what was coming, and I also called for Grant's (even uglier) head in 10/11 come the end of November as it was again all too evident to see what the outcome of the season was going to be.

Unfortunately, incompetent boardroom decisions (and fuck-ups) meant that these two idiots were allowed to stay and relegate us.

I'm not suggesting that Bilic will do the same but time is ticking... He's got two months to prove me otherwise... Not that the board may share my opinion, of course. Fuck knows what they think. I don't know.

Re: So where has it all gone wrong?
I think Stewie has hit the nail on the head. We are suffering the results of complacency, the club and Bilic didn't think we needed to improve the first team, the first team have goth message loud and clear that they are the greatest.

Complacency is corrosive in most walks of life, and so it is proving with us.

dicksie3 5:45 Sun Oct 2
Re: So where has it all gone wrong?
We've had some pretty winnable fixtures, on paper, and we've bollocksed them right up. Very worrying.

If you're not concerned at all by our start or, even worse, relegation does not phase you at all the you've got to be some kind of simple-minded div with zero ambition.

Four months of the season is ample enough time for Bilic to show us how competent he is as a manager.

If we're bottom three by the end of November; he should walk the first week of December.

History shows you time and time again that whatever teams are in the bottom three by the end of this year often finish in the drop-zone.

I don't want to take such a risk on our top-flight status... Let's see what Bilic is made of over the next seven or eight weeks.

Unfortunately football throws up things like this. You can't always perform and always win. Sometimes you have to come through some tough times.
